Nice tutorial. Having a sidebar and footer is really important. I am looking for creating 3 column widgetized header area for my theme. I hope I can make it properly.

That is a pretty interesting concept, getting rid of sidebars all together. But I like the crazy idea! It would definitely set your site apart from the thousands of other blogs out there. I am just getting into learning some php stuff, but I find wordpress to be a great tool for learning as you can test things out in real time and “tweak.”

Re my 12/21/2008 post:
For any of you with a similar problem, try removing any blank lines from your theme’s functions.php file. This worked for me.
