Dear mr. Tadlock,

i have to start by thanking you for this awesome plugin..its ideal for controlling the way images appear on my website which other users upload in their posts.

My question is: Is is possible to use the alt value defined in images uploaded with wordpress to automatically add a caption below my thumnail?

I will make a nice donation if you help me!

Translating the tags created a major problem in documentation and support, which was the reason for the change since the earlier versions.

Have no fear though!

Version 1.3 will soon be out with some major changes. Here's a thread about it:
http://justintadlock.com/forums/topic.php?id=1332

If you take a look at this screenshot of the new admin panel, you'll see that this won't be an issue with translation:
http://justintadlock.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/options-settings-1.3.gif

For the current versions of the theme, you'll just have to open the file and change it manually.

I won't be showing the modified files and code in an upgrade manual because too many things change from update to update. I just don't have the time for something so in depth.

Manual upgrades will only be possible for minor theme releases like 1.2.1 was, which are basically just bug fixes. Major releases, such as 1.3, have more code changes than I can even tell you.

Wordpreciousss is very easy to use. All you have to do is download the file. Then, in that download folder, you'll see the
wordpreciousss
folder. Drop that into your plugin directory. Activate the plugin. That's all you have to do.

The reason we're moving to this system is because WordPress 2.7 will allow this out of the box. There won't be a need for a plugin if you need to edit PHP files.

Hi, Justin.

I've tried developing child theme for Structure.
Why, it is limited.
If I want to add classes and create additional div layer, it become complicated and I'm quite frustrated when it not works...

For me it is more easier to edit the parent theme directly.
But when it comes to upgrade... Wah...

Using wordpreciouss make the things more complicated.
I don't understand how it's works. Guess how others are?

It is fine if we're only wants to alter the css, but when to add some new alien div layer or modifying the classes, it become so *%$2#*#& (Don't know how to describe it.)

Maybe just go on with telling what file is changing for other people that modify your theme like me, so we can update the file manually.
And also go on with child theme for those who prefer that way...

Or

You've found a solution?

Thanks to you for bringing this up. Something I've been wanting to ask Justin about. But you beat me to it.

I also being troubled by this 'spanning' thing for quite some time. I wanted to use the spanning full page in my last skin design idea. I can't figure out how to tweak the CSS correctly.

At least now, I know. I tried it last night, make a replica of the LibreMagazine theme. Maybe I'll use this idea on my next skinning project.

Superboy, keep on hacking those CSS, discover and learn some new trick at the same time.

Hello Justin,
I've just finished to update the italian translation for version 1.2.1 but I have many problems in particular with the tag "features" and the Feature Image key. The feature gallery works only with tag "features", there is no way to translate this tag (in the previous version "features" was translated with IT "evidenziato" and it worked), and the Feature Image is not displaied. Any suggestions?

I've got version 1.3 ready to go. Look for this ability when I release it.

The problem with Options right now is that I built in a custom stylesheet system based off WordPress' theme system and it would require some core theme changes to fix.

It'll be ready soon.

Hi Justin...
It seems that a lot of people taking your theme as a source of inspiration.

I agree that http://web2themes.com/demo/ is a crappy clone of Structure.
As I've using structure now. And I've found out the structure is well, THE SAME!

But, as I was looking for a source of inspiration to modify Structure for my new project, I stumble upon this premium(paid) theme http://wordpress-designers.com/smoke-signal/ .
It really look like OPTION theme structure that using post section home section. And beside that, if you view the single page, it also have the author's gravatar as it is in OPTION theme single page.

So, I want to ask, is this http://wordpress-designers.com/smoke-signal/ theme is a crappy clone of OPTION theme?

Now, that's can make you sad or proud...
Sad, for copying.
Proud for, indirectly that shows your theme is the best!(People only copy good thing.)

It's not really anything to do with the tabs widget as you can see from the error.

There's a bug where the code doesn't check to see if you have any tags. It just loops through them, and if there's nothing to loop through, it gives an error. Write a sample post or something and add at least one tag. It should clear it up.

I am having a problem with adding post meta values to excerpts.

if i add the following, nothing displays.

adding the same to options/category.php displays the required post_meta field,
any ideas?
Thanks,

Options is awesome. I had everything working perfectly -- then suddenly the Features Gallery is not working ( I don't see the uploading bar). In addition the post underneath is static. I'm using the latest versions of the Options Theme and Gallery 2.0. Can anyone help me. My site is http://www.21stcenturyeducators.org.

OK so I'm guessing this is plugin issue and not a theme one. Is that correct?

An old WordPress tip, but it should apply to bbPress as well. Open those files and make sure there's no whitespace after the closing
?>
tags.

Just put your cursor at the end of the file after the
?>
and hold delete for a few seconds.

Oh, I almost forgot. There's another element that'll wrap around the header, but I'm not sure if I used in all stylesheets:

#header-container {
	width: 100%;
	}

Ahhh, ok, I understand. Only was a curiosity because viewing the theme I was thinking we are using a past version of the smoot gallery. Look nice the menu but really is not need add it, the features gallery look great anyway.

hi justin...well I have resurrected this 1 month old thread but a question has cropped up. on my Home page I display just 10 posts. But I want my readers to go through the next page as well. I don't know if it used to function previously or I have messed up with the code.
