College

The college years.

Yes, I’ve been influenced by Facebook. So, I’ve decided to mimic their design for my next theme. I think I’ll call it Facebook Mimic. It’s not finished yet. I haven’t decided whether I’m keeping the same colors, and I need a good header.

What Next?

What can you do with an English major? That has been a concern for me ever since I stepped into my first upper-level English course. This runs parallel to the major question in any person’s life, especially a soon-to-be college graduate’s: What am I supposed to do? Or, what next? … Continue reading →

Fiction Writing, Cell Phone GPS, & Narnia

It’s been a long two days. And I’m not even through with the stuff that I was supposed to have done today. Well, the only thing I have left to do is finish my short story for Fiction Writing I. I was determined to finish it today, but I simply … Continue reading →

Full Day Ahead

Okay, I am moving myself along this week slowly, my body dragging my lagging brain along inch by inch throughout the day. And it’s already Tuesday night. Tomorrow, I have to meet with my Techonology, Literacy, & Culture group to work on our video project, read Chapter 3 of The … Continue reading →

When The Wind Blows & The Lake House

I had to put these two amazing books together in my review. James Patterson’s When the Wind Blows and The Lake House were a great weeklong diversion from reality. But, actually not that far-fetched. Asking For A Motivational High

I don’t know what it is. Maybe I’m bored. Maybe I’m depressed. I’m just in that mood where I want to want again; but, somehow, I can’t seem to put my self in the place that I need to be. I would like to say I can change my life … Continue reading →

Empire Falls

I suppose I should try and write some kind of review of Richard Russo’s Empire Falls. But honestly, it’s hard to describe such a wonderful peace of fiction in a way that wouldn’t understate just how wonderful it is. The first thing I have to mention is the characters. They … Continue reading →

Why Am I Tired?

Why am I so tired all of the time? I’m only 22 years old, and I feel like I’m pushing 40 sometimes. I didn’t have this problem when I first came to college. I was lively, energetic, and could pull at least two all-nighters in a row if I wanted … Continue reading →

He'll Always Be Papa

This is who my grandfather is and who he will always be for me. He inches slyly toward me, hiding something in his hand. I am sitting on the floor of the living room, leaning against a recliner. Bending slightly at the hips and knees, he lowers himself enough to … Continue reading →

One Image Theme

Another weekend gone by, and I almost have absolutely nothing to show for it. I did manage to accomplish one thing that I’ve been planning to do for weeks though. I have a new theme. I named it One Image because I wanted to put my CSS skills to a … Continue reading →
